Todays Painting in My Tulip Garden

"Tulip Garden"
5" x 5"
Oil on Linen Panel

This was the second painting I finished in the tulips. The first one I didn't particularly like, so I tried again--with a better outcome. Maybe it's the addition of the bunny garden sculpture:-)

"Big Phlox, Little Phlox" --Painting From My Garden

"Big Phlox, Little Phlox"
5" x 5"
Oil on Linen Board

Sat in my garden among the Phlox so I could get "up close and personal" with these! The bush above them was covered with a strong smelling bud which the bees were swarming to. I didn't get stung, and I had a good time painting it all.

Starting a Series of Small Paintings

#1 "Spring Daffodils"

5" x 5"
Oil on Linen Board

This is the first in a "series" that I'm going to paint of small "daily" paintings of the different varieties of flowers I have growing around my yard. Planting and growing flowers is my second favorite activity, second only to painting! I envision ten to fifteen, 5" x 5"--but I don't really even know how many different varieties I have, or when I might tire of painting them.

I will post these on my website, http://www.barbarasryan.com for $75.00 each.

Just off my Easel--"Blue Ridge Country Pond"

"Blue Ridge Country Pond"
24" x 30" -- Oil on Canvas

This painting is larger than my past paintings have been and I really liked moving up in size! It's a fairly "typical" scene you would see traveling the back roads near my home. I say typical, but the landscape around here is actually prettier than typical--the purple/blue mountains as a backdrop really adds to the beauty. When a reflection in water is added, this is what you get!
